As the Netherlands aims for full circularity by 2050, your students will benefit from learning about the footwear industry’s current challenges and gaining the knowledge and skills to maintain and care for products. That’s why we offer educational packages that spark conversations around sneakers and circularity, and share hands-on skills and knowledge to become more aware and responsible citizens.

As the EU pushes for a more circular economy, companies are expected to rethink how products are made, used, cared for, and valued. Sneakers are a powerful lens: they are everywhere, yet notoriously difficult to repair or recycle. At Footwear Care Lab, we help organizations explore these challenges through action. Our workshops take people away from their desks and screens, and into hands-on experiences, cleaning and repairing their own sneakers. By doing, participants not only learn practical care skills, but also discover how repair can shift mindsets and inspire new ways of approaching problems.

Sneakers are a big part of everyday life. But sneakers are difficult to repair and often thrown away too soon. At Footwear Care Lab, we believe that caring for what you already own is powerful. That’s why we run public workshops where anyone can learn how to maintain and repair their own sneakers, making them last longer and keeping them out of the waste stream.
